  • We are seeking a Officer AS Bank & Cash for executing the day to day activities within the Bank and Cash environment with the necessary accuracy and within the set deadlines on a temporary basis.
  • Furthermore, to ensure adequate governance and internal controls are exercised in these areas of responsibilities and to ensure the adherence to IFRS.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

  • Preparation and management of daily cash flow, ensuring submission within stipulated/agreed time frame.
  • Daily execution of all tasks and activities within cashier function ensuring on time payments and urgent and early payment requests are actioned in a timely manner.
  • On a daily basis downloading/posting of statements into SAP.
  • Compare and report daily cash balances providing explanation for deviations or variations.
  • Processing of transactions to the General Ledger.
  • Prepare for review weekly reconciliations comparing bank statements with accounting records.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations comparing bank statements with accounting records for the period.
  • Pursue and follow up on reconciliation items on the bank accounts.
  • Daily follow up of open items/unallocated deposits.
  • Review all bank charges levied on accountable bank accounts and follow up on incorrect charges.
  • Adherence to Governance standards, e.g. SOX, Internal Controls.
  • Observance to published procedures and accounting standards.
  • Prepare GL Reconciliations and Year end disclosures.
  • Certify that documents are filed correctly and in adherence to the agreed process/method.
  • Save and backup files on common folder.
  • Log IFM calls for all bank rejections within advised time frames.
  • Petty cash management accuracy i.e. all BICOS claims and supporting documentation for the day should be captured by COB and attached onto SAP.
  • Prepare Journals and attach appropriate supporting documents.

Formal Education

  • High School with Accounting / School Diploma or similar
