Purpose of the position
Responsible for project book-keeping, creditors, debtors and relevant reporting.
Minimum Requirements
Certificate/diploma in bookkeeping and or financial administration
- 3 years in financial accounting/administration
- Knowledge of financial accounting systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages
- Clear credit and criminal record
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including cashbooks, bank reconciliations, journals, petty cash, and general ledger transactions.
- Process and reconcile creditor and debtor accounts, ensuring timely payments, collections, and resolution of outstanding items.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, suspense accounts, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet schedules.
- Monitor project income and expenditure to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with funding requirements.
- Administer VAT, PAYE, UIF, and other statutory returns, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Support cash flow management through monitoring bank balances, processing transfers, and maintaining loan account reconciliations.
- Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of ad hoc financial analyses.
- Coordinate and support external audits, funder audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews.
