Sea Harvest Corporation is looking to employ a skilled and safety-conscious
Qualified Rigger with 3 to 5 years of experience proven work experience as Rigger. The successful candidate will join the Fleet Engineering department in Saldanha and will execute complex lifts on vessels, quaysides, and platforms while maintaining a zero-incident safety record.
POSITION: RIGGER
REPORTING TO: WORKSHOP SUPERINTENDENT
DEPARTMENT: FLEET ENGINEERING
PURPOSE
To perform rigging operations, including lifting, moving, securing, and installing heavy equipment and components on vessels and in the engineering environment, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and operational requirements.
OUTPUTS AND MEASUREMENTS
Rigging Operations
- Perform lifting and rigging tasks
- Inspect and maintain rigging equipment
- Support machinery installation and removal
- Comply with safety regulations
Maintenance and Housekeeping
- Maintain rigging tools and work areas
- Assist engineering teams with vessel maintenance
Communication and Reporting
- Report issues and progress to supervisors and complete required documentation
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Rigging qualification or trade certificate
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience working as a certified Rigger
- Valid rigging and lifting equipment certificates
- Knowledge of maritime safety regulations
