Healthcare Coordinator – Temporary Contract | Mossel Bay
POSITION INFO
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Healthcare Coordinator for a temporary position based in Mossel Bay. The successful candidate must currently reside in Mossel Bay or surrounding areas and be available to commence duties immediately. Main Purpose of Job: To coordinate and support the delivery of healthcare services within a Retirement and Lifestyle Estate, ensuring residents receive appropriate, timely, and quality care. The role involves liaising with residents, families, and healthcare providers while ensuring compliance with relevant healthcare standards and policies. Key Responsibility Areas: Healthcare Coordination & Support Coordinate healthcare services for residents Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of care plans Schedule medical appointments and follow-ups with healthcare providers Monitor resident wellbeing and escalate health concerns where necessary Stakeholder Liaison & Communication Act as a point of contact between residents, families, and healthcare professionals Liaise with doctors, nursing staff, therapists, and external service providers Communicate updates regarding resident care in a professional and timely manner Coordinate activities between internal teams and external stakeholders Administration & Record Management Maintain accurate and up-to-date healthcare records and documentation Ensure proper filing, storage, and retrieval of resident information Capture, update, and verify data on relevant systems Prepare reports and assist with administrative documentation as required Scheduling & Operational Coordination Manage calendars, appointments, and healthcare-related schedules Coordinate meetings and healthcare service logistics Ensure smooth day-to-day administrative and operational flow Follow up on outstanding tasks to ensure deadlines are met Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure adherence to healthcare policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Support audits and quality assurance processes Maintain confidentiality and ensure data protection at all times Assist in implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures Resident Support & Service Delivery Assist residents and families with healthcare-related queries Provide a high level of service and ensure a positive resident experience Support wellness programmes and preventative healthcare initiatives Promote quality care and overall resident wellbeing General Administrative & Operational Support Provide administrative support to the healthcare and management teams Assist with day-to-day office coordination and administrative tasks Monitor stock levels and coordinate the ordering of medical and office supplies Maintain stock records and liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries Support process improvements and perform ad hoc duties as required Qualifications & Experience Matric / Grade 12 Relevant qualification in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field Minimum 3 years' experience in a healthcare coordination or similar role Experience in elderly care, retirement estates, or frail care environments preferred Knowledge of healthcare practices and regulatory frameworks in South Africa Requirements & Skills Strong organisational and administrative skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Compassionate and resident-focused approach Ability to work independently and within a team Computer literacy (MS Office and healthcare systems) Must reside in Mossel Bay or surrounding areas If you meet the above requirements, and have the relevant experience, please apply by submitting your CV.
