SUMMARY
Production Specialist
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Our client is seeking a Product Specialist responsible for driving sales of Earthmoving equipment by identifying new business opportunities, engaging with customers, and providing expert product knowledge.
- This role involves managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to after-sales support, while maintaining strong relationships with clients and staying informed on industry trends.

- Meet or exceed sales targets.
- Actively solicits new equipment customers.
- Use all reasonable methods of prospecting for new customers on a daily basis, primarily via sales calls to individuals and businesses within specific area assigned.
- Generate and qualify leads.
- Active follow-up of OTPs.
- Communicate with and provide service to all walk-in and call-in customers.
- Assist clients in equipment selection based on the application.
- Follow up with and provide ongoing service to existing customers.
- Deliver new equipment, explain warranty and service policies.
- Develop sales proposals based on requirements and discuss with clients.
- Write sales orders and process paperwork in accordance with company's policies.
- Prepare and submit sales call reports, prospect lists, and lost sales reports.
- Develop and make presentations of the products.
- Continually study equipment specifications to improve product knowledge.
- Continuous market and competition research.
- Monitor trends and developments in the construction and material handling equipment industry in the territory.
- Attend sales and training meetings.
- Work with all departments in harmony.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet customer’s needs.
- Ability to understand and communicate basic financing with customers.
- Intermediate use of Microsoft Office and related software.
- Strong written and communicative skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Strong communicator.
- Capability in analysing and interpreting basic sales reports.
- Ability to liaise with clients (Admin orientated)
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple tasks and meet set deadlines.
- Ability to handle pressure during periods of high volume.
- Ability to take direction but also use own initiative and be proactive.
- Meticulous and work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Matric certificate (minimum requirement)
- Formal marketing qualification highly advantageous.
- Intermediate to advanced use on MS Office.
- Sage 300 experience advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience selling Earth Moving equipment.
