Qualified Dental Nurse Position
Full Time: 39 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated dental nurse who can provide a high standard of chairside assistance.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist, hygienist or therapist in all clinical procedures by providing chairside assistance.
This Includes
- Maintaining impeccable standards of hygiene and cross-infection control, according to the latest guidelines and in line with practice procedures and policy.
- Preparing instrument trays for procedures.
- Taking radiographs and clinical photographs when requested, and storing them according to practice policy.
- At the end of the surgical day, ensuring surgery management is completed in line with practice procedures and policy.
- Advising the Practice Manager or Lead Nurse of any faulty or poorly functioning equipment, so that prompt action can be taken to remedy any defects or problems and ensure service and maintenance are carried out at the required frequency.
- Ensuring that all relevant paperwork is completed promptly and accurately, and that all patient records are updated and maintained according to practice procedures.
- Maintaining registration and complying with all GDC requirements.
- Assisting in managing the appointment book for all dentists, hygienists, therapists and specialists, ensuring that daily production targets can be met, the booking system is followed, and there are no delays for patients or clinicians.
- Building trusting and caring relationships with all patients, taking all reasonable steps to ensure their comfort and retaining them as clients. Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
- Monitoring stock levels for materials and sundries, and ordering or liaising with the Practice Manager or Lead Nurse regarding ordering.
- Coordinating with the laboratory, as required, on the timely dispatch and receipt of work.
- Assisting the clinical team and reception team in gaining acceptance for treatment plans from clients, and supporting the practice in gaining testimonials and referrals from clients.
- Proactively contributing to regular practice meetings.
- Assisting in manning the reception and patient lounge, as the business requires, providing a customer-focused and seamless patient journey according to the practice’s brand standards, helping to recruit and retain patients.
