Service Manager – Power Generation About the Role We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our Power Generation Service Department. This senior leadership role is ideal for a technically strong professional with extensive experience in generator systems, electrical engineering, service operations, and team management. The successful candidate will oversee service delivery, drive business growth, and ensure exceptional client support across critical power systems. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of service technicians. Oversee daily service, maintenance, installation, and commissioning operations. Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex electrical and control system faults. Manage workshop activities, quality control, and preventative maintenance programs. Prepare and review technical quotations, maintenance contracts, and upgrade proposals. Conduct root cause analysis on electrical and mechanical failures. Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities. Advise clients on power system upgrades, modernization, and renewable energy integration. Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices. Manage after-hours standby operations and emergency call-outs. Minimum Requirements 5–7 years’ experience in the power generation or critical power industry. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role. Qualified Electrician or Millwright trade qualification essential. N-Diploma or B-Tech in Electrical Engineering advantageous. Strong expertise in: Generator systems and diesel engines. LV electrical systems, ATS panels, and alternators. PLC control logic and generator synchronization. Electrical fault-finding, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Deep Sea Electronics (DSE), ComAp, or similar controller platforms. Proven leadership and team development experience. Strong client relationship management and commercial skills. Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
