Account Specialist | Peninsula (Cape Town) | Permanent This role plays a critical support function within key account management, combining strong data analysis with hands-on stakeholder engagement. It is well-suited to a commercially minded supply chain professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. Reporting into a Key Accounts Specialist, the Account Specialist is responsible for analysing service, performance, and costing data across assigned customer accounts. The role focuses on understanding customer requirements, identifying efficiency opportunities, and supporting initiatives that improve service delivery and overall account profitability. The position is based in the Peninsula region and works closely with operational, supply chain, and commercial teams. Our client is a large, established logistics and supply chain organisation operating at scale, with a strong focus on service excellence, data-driven decision-making, and long-term principal relationships. The environment is demanding and performance-oriented, offering exposure to complex accounts and senior stakeholders. What You’ll Do Support the Key Accounts Specialist in managing assigned customer accounts. Act as a day-to-day operational contact for customer queries and service issues. Analyse and report on service levels, sales performance, and cost trends. Compile monthly customer review packs and performance insights. Monitor stock risks including overstocking, slow-moving SKUs, and expiry exposure. Track product, category, customer, and channel take-ons and exits. Liaise closely with Supply Chain, Planning, Commercial, and Operations teams. Support efficiency initiatives and joint projects aimed at improving profitability. Monitor SLA compliance and escalate risks or non-compliance where required. Conduct ad hoc analysis and competitive market research as needed. What You Bring BCom in Logistics or a related qualification. 2–3 years’ experience in supply chain, customer experience, or commercial roles. Exposure to 3PL environments and logistics execution processes. Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills. Working knowledge of SAP MM and BW. Confident communicator able to engage across multiple stakeholder levels. High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure. Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
