Cape Town or Johannesburg An established professional services firm is seeking an experienced Accountant: Independent Reviews & Compilations to join its Assurance team. Reporting to the relevant Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality independent review and compilation engagements, preparing financial statements, and maintaining strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities Perform and assist with Independent Review engagements from planning through to finalisation. Prepare high-quality Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS and IFRS for SMEs , including full working paper files. Liaise directly with clients and attend engagement-related meetings. Monitor engagement budgets, time spent, and ensure deadlines are met. Assist in mentoring and training junior team members. Ensure compliance with firm quality, independence, and professional standards. Maintain accurate administration, time recording, and engagement documentation. Requirements Completed SAICA articles . BCom degree essential; PGDA/CTA advantageous . Strong working knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs . Proven experience preparing financial statements using CaseWare Working Papers . Previous experience within an assurance or accounting environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams). Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and analytical ability. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Sound professional judgement and critical thinking skills. Ability to identify inconsistencies and interpret financial information accurately. High level of accountability and commitment to quality.
