Hydraulic Marine Business Development Manager Location: Cape Town - Coastal (Southern Africa) Reporting to: Commercial / Country Manager Role Overview: We are seeking a commercially driven Hydraulic Marine Business Development Manager to expand our footprint within the marine, port, and offshore sectors. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth, securing key accounts, and delivering technical hydraulic solutions that enhance customer uptime and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Develop new business across ports, shipyards, offshore operators, and marine OEMs Build and manage a robust sales pipeline to achieve revenue and margin targets Establish and grow strategic customer relationships Secure long-term service agreements and recurring revenue streams Promote hydraulic solutions including hose, fittings, diagnostics, and on-site services Identify market opportunities, industry trends, and competitor activity Prepare and negotiate proposals, tenders, and commercial agreements Coordinate with operations to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery Key Requirements: 5-10 years' experience in hydraulic sales or service Exposure to marine, port, or offshore environments preferred Strong technical understanding of hydraulic systems and applications Proven track record in B2B technical sales and business development Ability to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders Own vehicle essential Key Competencies: Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills Relationship-driven with strong customer focus Self-motivated, results-oriented, and resilient Structured approach to pipeline and account management Performance Metrics: Revenue and gross profit growth New business acquisition Contract and service agreement wins Customer retention and account expansion Pipeline value and conversion rate What Success Looks Like: Establishes key marine accounts within 12 months Secures recurring service contracts Positions the company as a preferred hydraulic service partner in ports Builds a sustainable revenue stream beyond mining sector dependency
