Stock Controller
stretchi tents
We manufacture and export premium Bedouin stretch tents and luxury glamping structures from our Cape Town factory to clients across Africa, Europe, and beyond. Our products are custom-built to order — which means every job depends on the right materials being available, correctly counted, and ready when production needs them.
We need one person who owns this completely. Not a passive operator who waits for instructions, but an agile thinker who sees a problem forming and deals with it before it lands on someone else's desk. Being action-orientation and results-driven are two of your natural traits - with a proven track record in support..
What you will be doing
- Receiving and verifying all incoming stock from suppliers against purchase orders
- Issuing materials to the factory floor against job cards only — nothing leaves the stockroom without one
- Managing 200-300 SKUs across fabric, rigging hardware, structural components, packaging, and accessories
- Maintaining accurate min/max levels and raising reorder requests before stock becomes critical
- Picking and verifying all outgoing orders — every component checked, every time, before dispatch
- Running weekly cycle counts and keeping Unleashed (our inventory system) accurate and up to date
- Receiving and assessing returned rental stock — recording condition, shortages, and damage
- Producing a clear weekly stock status report for the Head of Operations Who you are
- You have a Matric and a diploma / certification in supply chain/warehouse management
- Highly organised and detail-oriented — stock variances, mislabelled shelves, and system gaps bother you personally
- A quick thinker and problem solver — you act early, flag issues clearly, and don't wait to be chased
- 5+ years in a stock control, stores, or warehousing role — ideally in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Valid driver's licence — non-negotiable. You may need to do collections and drop offs.
- Confident with inventory management software (Unleashed, SAGE, Syspro, or similar)
- A clear communicator — written and verbal, with the Head of Operations, administrative team r and the production floor
- Lean manufacturing awareness, 5S, or MRP experience is a strong advantage
- You are a team player and natural collaborator; with great interpersonal savvy
What good looks like in this role
- Production never stops because a material ran out and nobody knew
- Every order leaves with all components — verified, not assumed
- Unleashed reflects physical reality at all times, not last week's count
- Low stock is flagged before it becomes a crisis
- The stockroom is clean, labelled, and navigable by anyone on the team
