***email_hidden*** Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of internal audit assignments across various business areas within the portfolio
  • Assist in shaping annual audit plans through risk assessments and emerging risk identification
  • Evaluate business operations, financial controls, and governance practices to identify areas of exposure or improvement
  • Deliver clear, practical, and value-adding audit findings to business stakeholders
  • Ensure assurance activities are completed efficiently and within agreed timelines
  • Work closely with stakeholders to address control weaknesses and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Review business processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and stronger risk mitigation
  • Partner with specialist teams, including IT and analytics functions, on integrated audit reviews where required
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across operational and executive levels
  • Contribute to reporting, assurance tracking, and portfolio performance monitoring
  • Ensure all audit work aligns with professional standards, methodologies, and regulatory expectations
  • Provide guidance, oversight, and support to audit teams to ensure quality delivery

Job experience and skills required: Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Honours or postgraduate qualification in Finance, Auditing, Accounting, or a related field
  • Professional designation : CA(SA), CIA and CFA

Experience

  • Proven internal and/or external audit experience
  • Strong exposure within insurance, banking, or broader financial services environments
  • Experience auditing areas such as financial reporting, operational controls, procurement, outsourced functions, and credit-related processes
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience managing multiple assignments and leading teams
  • Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Exposure to data analytics or audit technology advantageous

Technical expertise

  • Strong understanding of risk-based auditing principles and assurance frameworks
  • Ability to assess internal controls, business risks, and operational effectiveness
  • Experience using audit management systems such as TeamMate or similar tools beneficial
  • Strong analytical and report-writing capability
  • Good understanding of regulatory environments and corporate governance principles
  • Advanced computer literacy and data interpretation ability
