Operations Manager

N1 Group is looking for a highly capable and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee and drive the daily operations of our:

• Building Division
• Civils Division
• Plant Hire Division

This is not a desk-only management role. We are looking for someone who can lead teams, solve problems under pressure, improve systems, manage multiple moving parts, and take ownership of operational performance across the business.

• Oversee daily operational activities across multiple divisions
• Ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, on time, and within budget
• Manage site teams, supervisors, operators, drivers, mechanics, and subcontractors
• Coordinate plant allocation, transport logistics, maintenance scheduling, and equipment uptime
• Monitor project progress, productivity, costs, and operational reporting
• Implement systems, procedures, and accountability structures
• Work closely with Directors, QS’s, Procurement, and Finance teams
• Drive operational discipline, planning, and problem-solving culture
• Ensure compliance with HSE and company standards
• Improve profitability through operational efficiency and resource management

• Minimum 8–10 years operational experience in:
  • Construction
  • Civils
  • Plant Hire
  • Infrastructure maintenance
• Strong understanding of site operations, fleet management, and project coordination
• Proven leadership and staff management ability
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
• Computer literate (Excel, project management systems, reporting)
• Valid driver’s licence
• Based in Cape Town

Advantageous

• Experience working on municipal or government contracts
• Knowledge of JBCC, GCC, or infrastructure maintenance environments
• Experience managing construction plant and logistics
• Trade or technical background
