Our client in the plastics and packaging industry is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join their team based in Durban. This role is suited to a dynamic professional with strong B2B sales, account management, and business development experience within a manufacturing or packaging environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, growing existing customer accounts, developing strategic client relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving revenue growth. The role also involves managing key accounts, implementing sales strategies, conducting market research and competitor analysis, and working closely with internal departments to align business development initiatives with operational objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field
- Minimum 5–7 years’ business development or sales experience
- Experience within the plastics, packaging, or manufacturing industry preferred
- Strong B2B sales and account management experience
- Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets
- Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
