President and Chief Executive Officer

FOSKOR is looking for a President and Chief Executive Officer that will be accountable for the overall strategic direction, financial performance, and operational integrity of the organisation. As well as to architect and implement the business strategy and objectives of the organization, give direction and leadership towards the achievement of the organization’s vision and mission through an operating model.

Maximize organizational value, cultivate organisational culture based on company values, and lead the executive team to meet business and stakeholder goals. This role requires navigating high-stakes environments involving commodity price volatility, complex regulatory frameworks, and critical safety protocols

Knowledge and Capabilities

• Deep understanding of Global Commodity Markets and Industrial Symbiosis, as well as the micro and macro-economic factors with impact on the business;

• Proven track record in achieving sustainable business value creation and development;

• Strategic and long-term planning posture, with strategy implementation track record;

• Systems thinking is a holistic approach to analysis that focuses on how constituent parts of a system interact, influence, and depend on one another, rather than examining parts in isolation;

• Effective leadership skills and capabilities that combine personal traits like integrity, empathy, and resilience with actionable abilities such as clear communication, strategic decision-making, and fostering trust;

• Complexity management skills to navigate unpredictable environments, incomplete information, and rapid change by transforming chaos into clear, actionable direction;

• Ability to drive Value-Led ESG Strategies that generate tangible value rather than just meeting compliance metrics;

• Championing Zero-Harm Culture and ensuring high-risk safety protocols are non-negotiable across all multi-site operations;

• Expertise in Capital Allocation for multi-year projects and managing Commodity Price Volatility;

• Strategic Negotiation for high-value off-take agreements and the ability to turn loss-making operations into profitability;

• Financial Management proven track record;

• Securing and sustaining a Social License to Operate through experience MPRDA and/or BBBEE implementation;

• Strategic and visionary aptitude with capability to influence the future and sustainability of the business;

• Commercial astuteness with capability to manage business customer and key supplier relations.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPA)

1. Provide Visionary Strategic Leadership, and ensure development and implementation of organisational Vision; Mission Strategies, and direction on Policies and Procedures

2. Drive Shareholder value and financial performance through leading, managing and resourcing business performance of Foskor as a whole

3. Manage Organisational Effectiveness, mobilise effective teams, as well as workforce engagement

4. Mobilise and sustain effective relationships with Stakeholder and Regulatory Authorities

5. Ensure Regulatory Compliance in the Financial/Tax, ESGS; PFMA; MPRDA; Social Licenses to operate, and applicable statutes and regulations

6. Ensure effective, sustainable and reliable Business Development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mining, Chemical, or Civil), Geology, or Metallurgy.

• An MBA or equivalent degree in Business and/or Finance Management;

• Advanced Management and Leadership Development Programme will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in the industrial sector, with at least 5 years in a C-suite or Executive Vice President role overseeing multi-site operations;

• Experience in Mining and/or Chemical sectors;

• Interaction and liaison at Board level;

• Leading the diversification and growth of the business;

• Management of executive and/or top management team.
