We are looking for a Site Filter Press Operator for a project-based, fixed-term contract to operate, monitor, and maintain filter press equipment to ensure optimal plant performance, efficiency, and safety while maximizing production and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities

· Operate and monitor the filter press machine on the filter floor.

· Set up, start, run, and shut down the filter press in accordance with operating procedures.

· Maintain continuous operation of the filter press to achieve optimal performance.

· Ensure plant availability and compliance with operational requirements at all times.

· Monitor daily plant performance and report downtime or irregularities.

· Accurately complete and maintain activity logs, shift reports, and inspection records.

· Perform routine checks and basic adjustments to machine parameters.

· Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections consistently.

· Keep the filter press and associated equipment clean and in good working condition.

· Wash the filter press during each shift and perform visual inspections thereafter.

· Identify and report faults, defects, and maintenance requirements.

· Follow standard production procedures and operational instructions.

· Maintain effective communication with supervisors and site personnel.

· Ensure the work area is clean, safe, and hazard-free at all times.

· Adhere strictly to all Mine Health and Safety regulations, including correct use of PPE.

· Perform risk assessments before the start of each shift.

· Complete all reporting requirements accurately and timeously.

· Carry out ad hoc duties within the scope of the role as required by management.

Qualifications

· Grade 12 (Matric).

· Minimum 2 years’ experience operating filter presses or pressure filters.

· Proven experience as a Filter Press Operator.

· Understanding of process flow diagrams and filter press systems.

· Basic computer literacy.

· Valid driver’s license.

· Fluent in English (verbal and written).

· Physically fit and capable of manual work.

· Clear criminal record.

· Willingness to work overtime when required.

· Advantageous: Certified training on filter press operations.
