Finance Controller - Inventory

We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller – Inventory to join our finance team
This role is ideal for a driven and detail-oriented professional with strong stock control experience, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about accuracy and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all purchase orders related to inventory in the financial system
- Manage all stock receipt transactions accurately and efficiently
- Control and process stock adjustments (write-ups and write-downs) in line with company procedures
- Lead and coordinate regular stock counts across all branches nationwide, including:
- Rolling stock counts
- System updates and reconciliations
- Post stock-take analysis and corrective action implementation
- Manage stock replenishment calculations, including international sourcing
- Drive the replenishment process for imported parts
- Participate in import clearing processes for parts and units
- Support inventory control initiatives across all branches (including occasional travel)
- Manage returns to foreign suppliers
- Maintain and update minimum stock levels in the system
- Create and manage stock codes
- Support inventory-related projects as required
Requirements
Education
- Matric (required)
- Finance-related qualification (advantageous)
Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a finance environment, with stock control as a key responsibility
- Strong experience working with financial and inventory systems (Syspro advantageous)
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word with strong written communication
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Strong multitasking ability and able to work under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Other Requirements
- Valid Code 8 driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel to branches when required
- High energy, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow
- Strong sense of ownership and pride in work
Languages
- English (fluent – written and spoken)
- Afrikaans (spoken)
Remuneration & Benefits
- Basic Salary: R24,000 per month
- Provident Fund: 7% company contribution (compulsory)
- Medical Aid: Company contributes 50% up to a maximum of R2,500 per month
