Procurement Assistant

We are currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Procurement Assistant to join our dynamic team based in the North West province. The successful candidate must have experience working in a fast-paced procurement environment, preferably within the mining, earthmoving machinery, or heavy equipment parts industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the procurement and sourcing of mining and earthmoving machinery parts, equipment, and operational consumables
• Procure parts for heavy earthmoving equipment and mining machinery
• Process purchase orders and follow up on supplier deliveries
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
• Liaise with suppliers, technicians, and internal departments regarding procurement requirements
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
• Monitor stock levels and assist with replenishment planning
• Obtain quotations and compare pricing to ensure cost-effective purchasing
• Support the procurement team with administrative and operational functions
• Assist with supplier relationship management and performance monitoring
• Ensure urgent breakdown and operational parts are sourced efficiently to minimize downtime

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
• 2–5 years’ experience in a procurement or purchasing environment
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain procedures
• Extensive experience within the mining industry, earthmoving machinery industry, or heavy equipment parts procurement environment
• Knowledge and understanding of earthmoving machinery components and mining equipment parts
• Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Computer literate with experience using procurement systems and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Advantageous

• Experience procuring parts for excavators, dump trucks, drill rigs, loaders, crushers, and other earthmoving or mining equipment
• Exposure to workshop or mining operations environments
• Experience dealing with OEM and aftermarket suppliers
