SUPERMARKET MANAGER

(UPINGTON)

The successful candidate will assume full responsibility for the overall management and profitable operation of a large supermarket employing more than 80 employees.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least Grade 12 / Matric
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years’ proven management experience in a senior management role within a supermarket or retail group
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Good financial and administrative insight
  • Ability to function under pressure and achieve targets
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literacy and experience with retail systems
  • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English)
  • Reliable, professional and results-driven

Key Responsibilities

  • Full management and control of the store’s daily operations
  • Management of staff, discipline, productivity and performance
  • Ensuring excellent customer service and customer experience
  • Management of stock control, ordering and stock losses
  • Monitoring sales, profitability and budgets
  • Management of store standards, merchandising and cleanliness
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Handling administration, reporting and operational control
  • Driving sales and implementing strategic growth initiatives
