Master Data Manager

Please Note: This position is based in the South of Johannesburg (about 10 minutes from The Glen Shopping Centre).

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Create, maintain, and govern all supplier records within the master data system
• Manage supplier contact information, ensuring key contacts are current and accurate
• Onboard new suppliers by capturing all required master data at the point of engagement
• Identify and resolve data gaps, duplications, or inconsistencies in supplier records
• Maintain the full product catalogue across all suppliers, including variants, sizes, colours, SKU, etc.
• Manage product category structures, ensuring products are correctly classified and easy to navigate
• Actively engage with suppliers to ensure all available products and variants are captured and updated
• Track and manage product lifecycle status, distinguishing between active products and discontinued
• Capture and maintain accurate pricing for all supplier products
• Monitor and update pricing in line with supplier communications, agreed contracts, etc.
• Escalate pricing discrepancies or anomalies to the relevant stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with supplier contacts
• Proactively engage suppliers on a regular basis to obtain updated product lists, pricing, and contact information
• Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams to ensure data needs are met
• Lead, supervise, and develop a small team of administrators and data captures
• Allocate and prioritise workloads to ensure data is captured accurately and timeously
• Train and upskill team members on data standards, processes, and tools
• Enforce master data standards, naming conventions, and data entry policies
• Conduct regular data audits to identify outdated, incomplete, or incorrect records
• Maintain documentation of data management processes and change history
• Report on data quality metrics and team progress to the IT Executive

1. Are you currently a Master Data Manager WITHIN the FMCG or Food Retail or Wholesale Retail industry?
2. Do you have 3 to 4 years experience as a Master Data Manager or Data Administrator or Procurement Support WITHIN the FMCG or Food Retail or Wholesale Retail industry?
3. Do you have experience working with supplier or product data in an ERP, inventory, or procurement system?
4. Do you have experience managing large volumes of structured data?
5. Do you have experience supervising or leading a small team of Data Capturers and Administrators?

Market related dependant on relevant industry experience, skills, knowledge, etc.
