Project Manager - Electrical & Instrumentation
Masedi E&I Construction
Project Manager – Electrical & Instrumentation (Sasol Secunda)
Masedi E&I Construction | Secunda, Mpumalanga | Site-based
About the role
Masedi E&I Construction is looking for a E&I Project Manager to run a portfolio of electrical and instrumentation projects on Sasol's Secunda complex. You will own delivery from contract award through to close-out across several concurrent projects, working directly with Sasol's project teams, our site supervision crew, and our subcontractors.
This is a hands-on role for someone who knows the Sasol environment well and is comfortable with NEC3 contract administration on a day-to-day basis.
What you will be doing
• Running multiple E&I projects in parallel on the Secunda site, balancing scope, cost, schedule, quality and SHEQ on each one
• Administering NEC3 contracts, including early warnings, compensation events, programme submissions and monthly assessments
• Leading the site project team: planners, QS, QA/QC, supervisors, foremen and subcontractors
• Interfacing daily with Sasol project managers, engineers and operations stakeholders
• Driving the look-ahead programme, weekly reporting, and monthly client and management reviews
• Managing project finances: budgets, forecasts, cash flow, change control and final accounts
• Identifying and managing risk early, and keeping change properly documented and priced
• Enforcing Sasol SHEQ standards on site and working with our SHEQ team on permits-to-work, JSAs and incident response
• Closing projects out properly: punch lists, handover packs, as-builts and final NEC3 assessments
What you need to bring
• 8 to 12 years of project management experience in E&I construction
• Proven Sasol experience, ideally at Secunda, with working knowledge of Sasol's project execution, contractor management and SHEQ requirements (Sasol RBP, permit-to-work, red-area protocols, etc.)
• Strong NEC3 contract administration experience (ECC and/or TSC), with a clear track record of running compensation events and accepted programmes correctly
• A relevant qualification: National Diploma, BTech or BEng in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• PMP, Prince2 or similar project management certification (or working towards one)
• Strong MS Project, and comfort with Excel-based cost and progress reporting
• Valid driver's licence and own transport
• South African citizen or valid right to work in SA
Nice to have
• NEC3 Accredited Project Manager training
• Experience with Buildsmart and Candy accounting system
• Exposure to brownfields shutdown and turnaround environments
