Role Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aircraft support functions in Cape Town for inter-continental flights, working under the direction of the Aviation Manager.

This is a fixed-term position, from 1 September 2026 to 28 February 2027, as a Flight Operations Coordination.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the Flight Dispatch process and filing inter-continental Flight Plans (FPL).
  • Facilitating passenger and cargo manifests.
  • Flight monitoring and data recording.
  • Coordinating all ground operations at the airport to ensure a successful flight launch.
  • Checking planned payload figures (passengers, bags, and cargo).
  • Liaising with airport departments to arrange services such as fueling and ground handling.
  • Antarctica Weather forecasting, decoding, and dissemination.
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of operational procedures.
  • Responsibilities are not exhaustive and may be changed based on the Employer's operational requirements.
  • Qualifications: Entry-level knowledge of ATS/PPL/Airport Ground Operations, including air traffic services, air law, meteorology forecasting processes, navigation, flight planning, and NOTAM.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of Dangerous Goods (DG), airport ground handling/services, flight planning, Slots and CTOTs.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of practical experience in the above areas.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in MS Office (especially MS Excel and MS Outlook); experience with Apple Mac is advantageous.
  • Required Attributes: Proactive, strong organisational skills, team-oriented, flexible, able to produce solid results under high pressure, solid communication skills, ability to manage a heavy workload, high attention to detail, and able to prioritise multiple tasks.
