Mechanical Design Engineer vacancy in Randburg. BEng or MEng/MSc (Mechanical Engineering) with 3-5 years of working experience in product design.

The company is designing and manufacturing assemblies of parts for the electrical aspects of EVs, Trucks, military vehicles, Mining vehicles, and the railway Industry. The engineer will be responsible for parts and assembly design of components such as Tooling, Plastics, sheet metal, and related die products design. Simulation and 3D designs.

Mechanical design engineer required to assist with testing and manufacturing of composite parts for the Automotive Industry. Design of tooling and components. Parts are designed, manufactured, and assembled locally. Some parts are manufactured in the USA.

Qualification and experience required

• BEng. or MEng/MSc Mechanical Engineering
• Design experience on Inventor or Solid Works (Client will consider a similar design drawing experience utilising 3D)
• 3-5 years of working experience in product design
• Skills in assembly and component designs, or skills in component product designs
• Knowledge of Composites and materials.
• Ability to interpret specifications, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Modelling and design of components and systems on component assembly and sub-assemblies
• Generating component and assembly drawings for prototyping
• Product design for manufacturing
