Job Title: Receptionist / Administrator

Salary: R360K – R420 per annum

A rapidly growing international organisation within the energy and utilities sector is seeking a professional, proactive and tech-savvy Receptionist / Administrator to support a fast-paced office environment.

Role Overview

This is a strictly office-based role in Green Point, Cape Town. No hybrid or remote arrangements will be considered.

The successful candidate will manage reception and front-of-house operations while providing general administrative support to the wider team and executive function.

The environment is fast-paced, technical, and high-pressure. The ideal candidate will be confident, highly organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong communication skills in English are essential, with proficiency in Afrikaans required.

Bookkeeping or basic finance administration experience will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Reception & Front-of-House

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, clients and suppliers
  • Manage incoming calls, emails and general enquiries professionally
  • Coordinate meeting rooms, visitor access and office hospitality
  • Maintain a professional and organised reception area

Office Administration

  • Support day-to-day office operations and administration
  • Assist executives and team members with administrative tasks
  • Manage couriers, deliveries, supplies and vendor coordination
  • Maintain filing systems and internal documentation

Operational Support

  • Assist with scheduling, meetings and travel arrangements
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Support document preparation, reporting and presentations
  • Assist with ad hoc operational tasks as required

Experience

  • Previous experience in a Receptionist, Administrator, Office Coordinator or similar role
  • Experience in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
  • Exposure to executive-level stakeholders is advantageous
  • Experience in technical, engineering, energy or investment sectors is beneficial
  • Basic bookkeeping or finance exposure is an advantage

Technical Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable with digital tools and modern office platforms
  • Google Workspace experience is advantageous
  • Familiarity with AI or collaboration tools is a plus

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Professional, confident and well-presented
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to multitask and work independently
  • Proactive, adaptable and calm under pressure
