Our client is looking for an experienced Assistant Payroll Manager to support payroll operations within a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. - Support the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution.
- Assist with payroll calculations, reconciliations, and monthly payroll reporting.
- Maintain payroll accuracy through validating payroll input and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
- Assist with payroll audits and maintain strong governance standards.
- Investigate and resolve payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders.
- Support payroll reporting, employee benefits administration, and payroll-related submissions.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
- Contribute to payroll process improvements, efficiencies, and system optimisation initiatives.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and operational stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll delivery
Job Experience and Skills required
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field
- Professional payroll certification advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 5 years payroll experience in a payroll management or support environment
- Proven experience in high-volume payroll processing
- Strong payroll reconciliation and payroll administration experience
- Sound understanding of South African payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with VIP Premier, Sage 300, SAP, or similar payroll systems advantageous
- Previous exposure to employee benefits, payroll reporting, and payroll governance beneficial
