VACANCY: MECHANIC (EARTHMOVING / HEAVY EQUIPMENT)

Dura Equipment Sales is seeking a qualified and experienced MECHANIC with a strong background in Earthmoving / Heavy Equipment.

This position is strictly for experienced professionals. Under-qualified applicants will not be considered.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Proven experience as a Mechanic in the Earthmoving / Heavy Equipment industry
(Excavators, loaders, ADTs, dozers, graders, or similar machinery)
Minimum 5 years hands-on mechanical experience (Post-trade experience)
Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Trade Tested – Red Seal) – essential
Minimum 5 years of experience in servicing and repairing earthmoving and heavy-duty diesel equipment
Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and repair skills
Engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems
Fluent in Afrikaans
Must be fully proficient in Afrikaans (speak, read and write)
Valid Driver’s License – REQUIRED
Ability to work independently in a workshop and on-site environment
Basic own tools

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drug and Alcohol tests will be done.
Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of earthmoving equipment
Overhaul, strip and rebuild engines, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems
Respond to field service call-outs and attend to breakdowns when required
Ensure that all work is done to OEM specifications and safety standards
Complete accurate job cards, inspection sheets, and service reports
Maintain tools, equipment and ensure a clean and safe work environment
