We are looking for a Surveillance Investigator to join our dynamic and dedicated team. The ideal incumbent should be professional, proactive, detail driven and safety conscious.

The Surveillance Investigator conducts proactive and reactive investigations across Betting Operations, Food & Beverage (F&B), Supply Chain, Facilities and Event Operations. The role ensures the integrity of wagering processes, cash handling, operational controls and inventory movements through CCTV surveillance, evidence analysis, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Strict adherence to POPIA and chain of evidence requirements is essential.

Proactive Surveillance

  • Conduct targeted CCTV surveillance across various departments.
  • Identify irregularities within departments' operational controls.
  • Specific focus on reducing shrinkage, misappropriation and theft of inventory and company property.
  • Report findings, recommend disciplinary actions and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit to compile evidence packs.

Post-Incident Investigation

  • Investigate incidents and events to establish the true sequence of events and root cause.
  • Investigate shrinkage, stock manipulation, missing inventory or assets.
  • Gather and synchronise evidence from a variety of sources, including CCTV footage, POS reports, Goods-receiving registers, access control systems and other business records.
  • Interview TM’s, contractors, vendors and relevant witnesses.
  • Compile accurate Investigation Reports.
  • Prepare evidence packs for HR, Legal/Compliance, Internal Audit and SAPS.

Tools of the Trade

  • VMS/CCTV platform - HikCentral or equivalent.
  • AI and analytics tools, including LPR, zone alerts, and people counting.
  • Betting/wagering systems (terminal logs, payout audits, void reports).
  • POS exception reporting and cash variance systems.
  • Access control systems (video-linked).
  • Evidence Management software.
  • Incident management tools and Microsoft Office/365.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 Equivalent Qualification (required)
  • Registered Grade B with PSIRA (required).
  • Diploma or Degree in Security, Risk Management or related field (advantageous).
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of CCTV systems in a control room environment.
  • Experience with control room alarm monitoring software.
  • Above average report writing skills.
  • Computer literate (MS office suite).
  • Be available to work flexible hours including weekends, Sundays, Public Holidays and day and night racing, if required.
  • A clear criminal record.
