Site Manager - Construction Industry

RPO Recruitment’s client, a leading property development and construction company in Gauteng is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join their growing team.
This role is ideally suited to a strong construction professional with extensive site-based experience managing building projects from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily site operations and ensuring smooth project execution
- Coordinating project schedules, construction programmes, and workflow planning
- Managing subcontractors, labour teams, plant, and materials on site
- Monitoring project costs, budget performance, and resource utilisation
- Maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with specifications
- Enforcing health, safety, environmental, and security procedures on site
- Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Leading and mentoring site personnel while maintaining discipline and productivity
- Chairing site meetings and maintaining accurate site records and reporting
- Ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
Requirements
- BSc/BTech/National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Building, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
- Minimum 10 years’ construction industry experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role
- Strong building construction project experience
- Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous)
- Valid driver’s license
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site coordination
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- Knowledge of quality management systems and construction testing procedures
- Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and PandG management
- Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and environmental compliance
- Effective planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring capabilities
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing subcontractors and site administration processes
- Proficiency in project reporting and construction documentation
