Drill Rig Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Drill Rig Technician / Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, fault-finding, and repair of drilling rigs and related equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on drilling rigs and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
- Conduct breakdown repairs both in the workshop and on-site.
- Complete service reports, maintenance records, and job cards accurately.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Assist in equipment commissioning and decommissioning.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
- Work closely with operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Provide technical support and recommendations for equipment improvements.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic, Millwright, or relevant trade qualification.
- Minimum 2–5 years' experience maintaining and repairing drill rigs, mining, construction, or earthmoving equipment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime when required.
- Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Advantageous
- Experience working on drill rigs.
- Experience in mining environments
