We are seeking a skilled and experienced Drill Rig Technician / Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, fault-finding, and repair of drilling rigs and related equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on drilling rigs and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
  • Conduct breakdown repairs both in the workshop and on-site.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance records, and job cards accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Assist in equipment commissioning and decommissioning.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Work closely with operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations for equipment improvements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic, Millwright, or relevant trade qualification.
  • Minimum 2–5 years' experience maintaining and repairing drill rigs, mining, construction, or earthmoving equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime when required.
  • Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Advantageous

  • Experience working on drill rigs.
  • Experience in mining environments
