Trade Partner Travel Coordinator
Legendary Expeditions
TRADE PARTNER TRAVEL COORDINATOR — LUXURY SAFARI
Legendary Expeditions × Auberge Resorts | Cape Town (Hybrid) | Full-time
Do you live and breathe Africa? Are you the person who can walk into a room with a trade partner, give expert advice on our camps, build a bespoke itinerary on the spot, and still have the presence to manage upward to a Sales Team and HOD?
Legendary Expeditions is looking for a Trade Partner Travel Coordinator who is far more than a support function. This is a decision-making, relationship-owning, department-shaping role at the heart of our trade partner engagement strategy.
If you're a self-starter with deep East and Southern Africa product knowledge, a background in Destination Management, and the confidence to operate autonomously — we want to hear from you.
NOTE: Our FAM (Familiarisation) function is not a support role. It is a critical pillar of our trade partner engagement — and this person will help conceptualise and build it.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
→ Lead trade partner engagement independently — making decisions on the fly without needing to be managed
→ Conceptualise and help set up our FAM department structure from the ground up
→ Manage upward effectively to the Sales Team and Head of Department
→ Build and deliver tailored itineraries that showcase our camps and 3rd party logistics with authority
→ Act as the go-to expert for agents — advising confidently on our camp portfolio, routing, and supplier logistics
→ Own end-to-end booking coordination for trade partners from first enquiry to flawless departure
→ Craft accurate, compelling quotes with a focus on upselling experiences that delight clients
→ Negotiate partner rates in coordination with the Product Manager and Sales Team
→ Maintain meticulous booking files and ensure every logistic is perfectly executed
WHO YOU ARE
→ A genuine self-starter — you don't wait to be told what to do, you identify what needs doing and you do it
→ Minimum 3 years in the luxury inbound travel industry — you know what great looks like
→ EA (Destination Management) background essential; Southern Africa experience a strong plus
→ Proven experience building itineraries and advising trade partners with confidence and depth
→ TP (Tour Producer/Operator) experience advantageous
→ Deep product knowledge of East & Southern Africa, especially Tanzania and Kenya
→ Comfortable managing up — you can communicate clearly and assertively with senior stakeholders
→ Calm under pressure, detail-obsessed, and a true team player who also leads when needed
→ Exceptional English communication; additional European languages a bonus
→ You've travelled Africa — personally or professionally — and it shows
SYSTEMS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Matric (Maths SG or above)
• Travel & Tourism / Hospitality qualification (advantageous)
• TourPlan or similar booking system
• Google Suite proficient
WHY JOIN US

→ Collaborate with a passionate, experienced team that genuinely loves what they do
→ Hybrid flexibility — Cape Town-based with remote working options
→ Be part of a brand synonymous with extraordinary, tailored safari experiences
