About The Client

Our client is a family-owned civil engineering contractor based in Brisbane. They are a reputable contractor in Queenslands Civil Construction Industry, with a management and engineering team that has a combined experience over a century. Experts in all aspects of residential civil construction including subdivisions, stormwater, sewer, water reticulation, road construction and re-rehabilitation, bulk earthworks, erosion and sediment control and environmental remediation works.

What You Will Be Doing

They are currently seeking a Civil Leading Hand for a long-term subdivision project in Morayfield, Brisbane. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, 9-10-hour shifts, commencing at 6:30am. You will be responsible for overseeing a crew of 4-6 contractors and completing the following duties;

• Direct and supervise the day-to-day work operations and direct crews
• Ensure high standards for quality and safety maintained
• Coordinating construction work
• Allocating general and daily responsibilities
• Ensure professional standards and company objectives are maintained in relation to company reputations, service quality, OH&S and environmental standards.
• Operate machines when required if ticketed

What You Will Need

• Drivers License and own Transport
• White Card
• Prior experience within the civil construction industry, ideally working across subdivision projects or similar (Urban construction)
• Good understanding and experience with curb, channel, drainage and road experience (highly desirable)
• The ability to read and interpret plans
• Strong safety knowledge and initiative
• Good leadership skills good leader and team player
• Be reliable and trustworthy with the ability to work with little supervision and be able to work as part of a team
• Have excellent communication skills
