Junior Mechanical Engineer

Our client in Commercial Refrigeration Industry, requires the services of a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The Junior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and plans, collaborating closely with engineers and the R&D Department to ensure precision and accuracy in all design projects.

Key performance areas

• Daily remote monitoring of sites
• Assembling new remote monitoring systems
• Supporting R&D, Services and Sales/Quotes departments
• Adding new sites to remote monitoring system
• Providing, interpreting and processing of information gathered through site monitoring.
• Issue, logging, reporting, programming and clearing up / reset alarms
• Liaising with technicians & clients
• Assist with CAD drawings
• Make changes and alterations to sites parameters through information gathered from monitoring
• Site visits to ensure accurate measurements.

The successful candidate must have

• Matric with a National Diploma/ Advanced Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering qualification
• Must have at least 1-2 years’ experience in a technical or manufacturing environment role
• At least 1-2 years’ experience working with store designs
• Excellent computer literacy (MS Office – Outlook, Word & Excel)
• Experience with CAD would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
• Must be diligent and self-motivated
• Must have the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Technically strong / ability to think out of the box and solve problems
• Must have a driver’s licence and own reliable transport
