Accountant & Internal Control Manager

A well-established agricultural business is seeking a highly capable and proactive Accountant & Internal Control Manager to support the CFO in managing the full financial function and strengthening internal control systems across the organisation. This hands-on role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in an operational environment and enjoys working closely with both financial data and business operations.

• Maintaining, managing, and controlling accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Reviewing and overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and stock accounting processes
• Designing, implementing, and continuously improving internal control systems to reduce risk and strengthen governance
• Assisting with statutory compliance and company secretarial functions
• Supporting the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to aid strategic decision-making
• Providing financial insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency
• Monitoring financial processes and ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures
• Collaborating with operational teams to strengthen financial controls and reporting accuracy

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Auditing, or Management Accounting
• Professional qualification advantageous
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting, finance, or internal controls role
• Strong understanding of financial and tax legislation
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical thinking
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Strong administrative and computer literacy skills
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple priorities effectively
• Demonstrated leadership ability and a collaborative team mindset
• Willingness to travel between operational sites when required
• Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment
• Adaptable, hands-on, and capable of managing changing business demands
