MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • National Diploma or Degree in Warehouse Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Certificate in Leadership & Management (advantageous)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment, including at least 2 years in a team leader role
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations (Checking)
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), with exposure to Scale WMS and Amtrack advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (data capturing, analysis, and reporting)
  • Solid understanding of team leadership, coordination, and workflow management
  • Knowledge of SOPs and quality control processes in checking environments
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in warehousing

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF KEY PERFORMANCE AREA

  • Oversee the loading and offloading of stock from the conveyor system.
  • Ensure stock is correctly scanned into QC stations upon offloading.
  • Manage the consolidation and verification of all orders in line with system lead times.
  • Investigate QC fails as reflected on the Manhattan Scale system and resolve them
  • Liaise with Inventory to resolve stock discrepancies, such as short picks and damages.
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency of outbound order processing and packaging.
  • Track and monitor exceptions reports, investigating outstanding orders.
  • Report any significant issues or delays to the QC Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.
  • Maintain open, proactive communication with other departments
  • Set daily productivity targets for staff and monitor output against expectations.
  • Analyse and action performance reports, taking corrective or supportive steps as required.
  • Ensure the team operates efficiently, with minimal errors or downtime.
  • Lead daily team briefs to reinforce expectations, targets, and SOPs.
  • Ensure exception reports are reviewed and actioned daily.
  • Ensures stock integrity through effective problem resolution and communication.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Handle minor disciplinary matters fairly and escalate when necessary.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Must be available to work overtime, extended shifts, and weekends in accordance with operational requirements.
