We are seeking to establish a roster of highly qualified consultants to support
assignments in aquatic resources management, fisheries, aquaculture, aquatic
ecosystem conservation, blue economy development, and related sectors across
Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Somalia, and Ethiopia. Consultants will be engaged on a
short-term, long-term, or assignment-based basis, depending on project
requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical advisory services on fisheries, aquaculture, aquatic
ecosystems, and blue economy initiatives.
• Conduct baseline studies, assessments, feasibility studies, and sector
analyses.
• Design, implement, and evaluate fisheries and aquaculture development
programs.
• Undertake aquatic biodiversity, water quality, fish health, and ecosystem
assessments.
• Support the development of policies, strategies, guidelines, and regulatory
frameworks.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations, community engagement, and
partnership-building activities.
• Develop and deliver training programs and capacity-building initiatives.
• Conduct research, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
• Prepare technical reports, policy briefs, project documents, and knowledge
products.
• Support monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting activities.
• Provide recommendations for sustainable resource management, climate
resilience, and environmental conservation.

Required Qualifications
• PhD in Aquaculture, Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Aquatic Ecology,
Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Blue Economy,
Oceanography, Fisheries Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in aquatic
resources, fisheries, aquaculture, marine or freshwater ecosystem
management, or related sectors.
• Demonstrated experience in technical advisory services, consultancy
assignments, research, project implementation, policy development, or
capacity building.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality technical reports, assessments, and
analytical outputs.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and
presentation skills.
• Experience working in East Africa and the Horn of Africa is highly desirable.
