LOCATION: Hybrid as per BIIS Working Conditions (BIIS Office in Centurion – Minimum 3 days onsite, with remote working. Site visits to mining shafts, processing plants, and regional offices locally and regionally may be required from time to time)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Enterprise Data Architecture team is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant with strong SAP BW/HANA/BO expertise for a contract assignment. The purpose of this role is to design, build, support, and maintain BI and analytics solutions based on SAP BW/4HANA (BW on HANA) and SAP BusinessObjects. The successful candidate will also provide advisory support and guidance to internal stakeholders and teams on SAP BW/HANA/BO capabilities, applications, and best practices. This role requires strong communication, analytical, technical, and consulting skills, with the ability to work closely with business process owners, project stakeholders, developers, and SAP functional/technical teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with mining engineers and production teams to design BI solutions supporting ore extraction, processing efficiency, and safety compliance Develop dashboards and KPIs for underground and surface mining operations, including tonnage, grade, recovery rates, and equipment utilisation Responsible for SAP BW/HANA/BO solutions across the full development lifecycle, from design through to implementation and production support Analyse business requirements and existing systems, and produce detailed technical design documentation Translate technical specifications into efficient, scalable, and high-performance solutions Design and develop BW data models using LSA/LSA++ architecture Develop queries, reports, workbooks, and analytical solutions using SAP BI tools, including BW Modeling Tools (BWMT), BEx, Analysis for Office (AFO), Web Intelligence, and Crystal Reports Perform SAP BW ETL development, including transformations, routines, formulas, and DTPs Provide backend development, configuration, testing, and pre-production support for SAP BW/BO solutions Deliver end-to-end reporting solutions using appropriate analytics toolsets Conduct root cause analysis and resolve production and development issues DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Minimum 10 years' end-to-end SAP BW modelling and development experience Minimum 7 years' experience in SAP BW/4HANA or BW on HANA environments Minimum 7 years' SAP BusinessObjects development/support experience (WebI, Crystal Reports) Strong SAP BW architecture, modelling, and performance optimisation skills Experience working in Agile delivery environments Experience in at least one SAP ERP functional module Strong understanding of business processes in Plant Maintenance (PM), Materials Management (MM), Finance and Controlling (FI/CO), and Human Resources (HR) ABAP knowledge will be an advantage SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (ETL) experience advantageous Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a complex environment Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams Experience with SAP HANA data provisioning (SDA/SDI, SLT, ODP) Native and hybrid HANA data modelling experience QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics, Engineering, or related field Required Certifications SAP BW 7.x SAP BW/4HANA Advantageous Certifications SAP BusinessObjects 4.x - Crystal Reports SAP BusinessObjects 4.x - Web Intelligence APPLICATION CLOSING STATEMENT If you have not heard from us by 22 June , please consider your application unsuccessful.
