Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Senior Creditors Controller in the Group Services division. The Senior Creditors Controller is responsible to supervise and coordinate the Creditors department to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing of supplier accounts, reconciliations, payments, cashbooks, bank reconciliations, reporting, and compliance with company policies and financial controls. This position reports to the HOD: Creditors and holds the TASK Grade T10. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a 3-year Diploma in Accountancy or a similar post-matric qualification in the financial environment and have a minimum of 3-5 year’s Creditors/Accounts Payable experience. Syspro or ERP system experience will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplier invoices and credit notes are captured accurately and timeously.
• Process weekly cashbooks on Syspro.
• Review and approve reconciliations ensuring that supplier statements are reconciled monthly.
• Supervise day-to-day activities of Creditors staff.
• Maintain internal controls within creditors, cashbook and banking processes.
• Report on department performance, risks and issues to HOD Creditors.
• Escalate unusual or long outstanding reconciling items to HOD Creditors.
