Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join their Human Resources team. The successful candidate will provide administrative and operational HR support while assisting with various human resource functions, employee relations, recruitment activities, and employee administration processes.

This role is ideal for a candidate who is highly organised, able to multitask effectively, and enjoys working within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

HR Administration & Employee Support

  • Attend to employee queries and provide HR-related support.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases accurately.
  • Perform data capturing and ensure employee information is kept current.
  • Prepare employment contracts and other HR documentation.
  • Submit relevant employee documents to the wage/payroll department.
  • Ensure all HR filing systems and employee records are maintained in accordance with company standards.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist with recruitment, selection, and interview coordination processes.
  • Support induction and onboarding activities for new employees.
  • Coordinate candidate communication and recruitment administration.
  • Assist with reference checks and onboarding documentation.

Training & Development

  • Assist the HR Manager with coordinating internal and outsourced training initiatives.
  • Schedule training sessions and maintain training records.
  • Support employee development initiatives and administrative requirements.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Submit IOD (Injury on Duty) claims and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Conduct daily camera observations and report findings where required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and HR procedures.
  • Assist with HR reporting and administrative duties.

General Responsibilities

  • Prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
  • Support HR projects and departmental initiatives.
  • Perform any additional administrative duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Human Resources or related field.
  • Previous HR experience will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong administrative and data capturing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
