Senior Ladieswear Merchandiser and Range Developer

PLEASE NOTE: This is a Midcareer to Senior level position;

Midcareer level requires 3 to 6 years experience.

Senior level requires 7 to 9 years experience.

Key Performance Areas:

Liaison with buyers/clients and manufacturers (local & international depending on portfolio).
Ensure Correct Planning and Costing.
Responsible for managing product developments / sample development for the respective clients / portfolio.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Liaising and negotiating with customers/buyers.
Presenting product ranges to potential customers/buyers.
Liaising and negotiating with factories with regards to product, price, quality and delivery (local & import depending on portfolio).
Developing and sourcing of new fabrics / products (sample/ product developments).
Presentations and quotations of new products to clients/buyers.
Responsibility for Checking and Signing off all product costings and ensuring company gross profit margins are achieved.
Signing and Checking customer orders.
Placing Purchase Orders and Signing Sales Contracts with factories (local & import depending on portfolio).
Order Tracking and ensuring on time supplier shipment (local & import depending on portfolio).
Ensuring on time customer delivery.
Analysis and administration of orders from placement to final customer delivery including quality control (sample approval).
Management of pre-production samples through to production approval within company policy and procedures.
Responsibility for recovering and monitoring any claims from factories for any losses incurred due to defective quality or late delivery.
Control of courier costs for samples within company policy and procedures.
Quality control specifications.
Possible travelling overseas to attend trade fairs.
Possible travelling overseas to identify trends and select suitable products if required by the company.

4 to 8 years experience as a Fully Fledged Ladieswear or Kidswear Merchandiser and Range Developer WITHIN A CLOTHING SUPPLY AND MANUFACTURE environment.
Fashion related Degree or Diploma.
Must have both Local & Import experience.

R30,000 to R45,000 Cost to company per month (salary is dependent on years of relevant experience, current job level (midcareer or senior), tertiary education, skills, relevant product experience, etc.)
