Inventory Coordinator

Bellville

A vacancy exists in the Manufacturing Business Unit (Bellville) for an Inventory Coordinator. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Stores Supervisor. The successful candidate should be willing to work beyond normal hours and on weekends when required. The candidates’ primary functions will be to

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Receive incoming deliveries and verify goods against delivery notes, invoices, and purchase orders for correct products, quantities, batch numbers, and condition.
  • Report all delivery discrepancies, short deliveries, damaged stock, missing documentation, or invoice queries to procurement team and Supervisor
  • Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records to share with management and other stakeholders in the business.
  • Ensure received goods are correctly labelled and moved to the appropriate storage or quarantine areas in accordance with SOPs and stock segregation rules, while maintaining a clean and compliant receiving area.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to manage deliveries and resolve any issues related to shipments.
  • Improving inventory management procedures and policies.
  • Assist store supervisor in devising new ways to reduce stock loss and maintain inventory control.
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12
  • Qualification in inventory management/supply chain management or similar.
  • Forklift License (Advantageous)
  • Computer literacy is essential

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a Warehouse or Stores environment
  • ERP Systems ( SYSPRO, Business Objectives)
  • Competence in MS Office applications
  • In depth experience in store procedures and processes.

  • Physically fit and able-bodied, with the ability to handle and move stock safely during the receiving process.
  • Strong clerical and administrative skills, including accurate invoice capturing, filing, and record-keeping.

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work and cope under pressure.
  • Interviews will take place at our Bellville Office.
