SUMMARY
A well-established organisation within the labour relations and regulatory environment is seeking a highly experienced
Compliance, Enforcement & Dispute Resolution Executive to lead and oversee all compliance, enforcement, and dispute resolution functions across the organisation.
This strategic leadership role is based in Parktown and responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and continuously improving compliance and enforcement frameworks in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, collective agreements, organisational policies, and operational guidelines. The successful candidate will provide leadership to a national team while ensuring effective dispute resolution processes and maintaining the integrity of the organisation's regulatory framework.

POSITION INFO
Key Responsibilities Compliance & Enforcement Leadership Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain compliance and enforcement processes and procedures to ensure effective and timeous enforcement of all applicable Collective Agreements. Continuously review and improve departmental systems, procedures, and operational practices to ensure alignment with industry best practices. Lead compliance monitoring activities and enforcement initiatives to ensure adherence to legislative and collective agreement requirements. Oversee investigations, assessments, calculations, compliance audits, inspections, and enforcement actions where necessary. Personally perform compliance, enforcement, dispute resolution, or investigative functions when required. Ensure effective management of arrear fees, levies, contributions, and outstanding returns. Establish and maintain monitoring, reporting, and statistical tracking systems to support informed decision-making and governance oversight. Provide expert guidance and recommendations to executive management and senior stakeholders on compliance and enforcement matters. Ensure departmental objectives are achieved in accordance with applicable legislation, organisational policies, Collective Agreements, and operational mandates. Dispute Resolution Management Oversee and manage dispute resolution processes in line with legislative and organisational requirements. Ensure disputes are handled professionally, fairly, and within prescribed timelines. Provide strategic direction on complex labour relations and dispute resolution matters. Monitor dispute resolution outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Leadership & People Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team consisting of Compliance Managers, Provincial Managers, Regional Managers, Chief Agents, and Dispute Resolution Officers. Recruit, train, coach, and support staff to ensure consistent and effective performance. Establish performance standards and monitor achievement against departmental objectives. Promote accountability, professionalism, and ethical conduct across the department. Manage disciplinary matters and ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and service excellence. Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain effective relationships with employers, employees, trade unions, employer organisations, government departments, and other industry stakeholders. Provide advice, support, and guidance to parties engaged with the organisation. Represent the organisation in meetings, forums, and engagements relating to compliance, enforcement, and dispute resolution matters. Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives. Governance & Risk Management Ensure full compliance with applicable labour legislation, regulations, and governance requirements. Identify and mitigate compliance and operational risks. Develop and implement controls to prevent unlawful, unethical, or improper conduct. Ensure all departmental activities are conducted in accordance with governance standards and organisational policies. Prevent prescription of claims and ensure all matters are managed within statutory timeframes. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Law / BCom Law /LLB A postgraduate qualification will be advantageous. Relevant labour law, compliance, or dispute resolution certifications will be advantageous. Experience Minimum 8-10 years' experience in labour relations, compliance, enforcement, dispute resolution, or collective bargaining environments. Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior management or executive leadership role. Proven experience managing compliance and enforcement functions within a regulatory, bargaining council, union, employer organisation, or similar environment. Strong knowledge of labour legislation and dispute resolution processes. Knowledge & Skills Extensive knowledge of South African labour legislation and collective bargaining frameworks. Strong understanding of compliance monitoring, investigations, enforcement procedures, and dispute resolution processes. Excellent leadership, people management, and coaching abilities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent conflict management and negotiation capabilities. Strong report writing, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Sound understanding of governance, risk management, and organisational compliance requirements.
