Skills Development Sales Executive (Learnerships & ICT Training) Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng Employment Type: Permanent Industry: Skills Development, Learnerships, ICT Training & Certification About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Skills Development Sales Executive to drive revenue growth and expand our national footprint within the corporate, enterprise, and public sector markets. This is a true business development role focused on acquiring new clients and generating revenue through the sale of accredited learnerships, skills development programmes, ICT training, certifications, and workforce development solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, building relationships with key decision-makers, developing strategic sales pipelines, and closing profitable deals. This role requires an individual with strong commercial acumen, a hunter mentality, and a passion for exceeding sales targets. The ideal candidate understands the South African Skills Development landscape, including Learnerships, SETA funding mechanisms, B-BBEE Skills Development requirements, and corporate training initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesNew Business Development Identify, target, and secure new corporate, enterprise, and government clients. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, social selling, and market research. Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting activities. Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and emerging client needs. Client Relationship Management Establish and maintain strong relationships with HR Directors, Learning & Development Managers, Skills Development Facilitators, Transformation Managers, Procurement Teams, and Executive Management. Understand client business objectives and recommend suitable learnership, training, and certification solutions. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and onboarding. Conduct regular client meetings to identify expansion opportunities and ensure client satisfaction. Consultative Selling Present and demonstrate training solutions to prospective clients. Prepare professional proposals, quotations, tenders, and business presentations. Consult with clients on B-BBEE Skills Development compliance and workforce development strategies. Position training solutions that support organisational growth, compliance, and transformation objectives. Revenue Generation Achieve annual sales target of approximately R11 million . Consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue objectives. Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling across the training portfolio. Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions where required. Market Development Attend industry events, networking functions, exhibitions, and conferences. Develop strategic partnerships that support business growth. Maintain awareness of industry trends, Skills Development legislation, SETA requirements, and competitor activities. Reporting & Administration Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts. Submit regular pipeline, activity, and revenue reports. Track sales performance against targets and KPIs. Ensure all proposals, contracts, and client documentation are completed accurately and timeously. Minimum RequirementsEducation Diploma or Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Training, or related field preferred. Experience Minimum 3 years successful sales experience within: Skills Development Learnerships ICT Training Corporate Training Technology Solutions B-BBEE Consulting Workforce Development Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Demonstrated experience in new business acquisition and revenue generation. Experience selling into medium, large corporate, enterprise, or public sector environments. Knowledge Strong understanding of: Learnership programmes Skills Development legislation SETA funding B-BBEE Skills Development Scorecard Corporate training solutions ICT certifications and technology training Technical Skills CRM systems Microsoft Office Suite Proposal and presentation development Sales forecasting and pipeline management Competencies Exceptional communication and presentation skills Strong negotiation and closing ability Commercially astute and results-oriented Highly self-motivated and resilient Excellent relationship-building skills Strategic thinker with strong business acumen Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously Strong organisational and time-management skills Advantageous Existing network within corporate South Africa. Established relationships with Learning & Development Managers, Skills Development Facilitators, HR Executives, and Transformation Managers. Experience selling ICT Learnerships linked to certification programmes. Experience engaging with Government Departments, SOEs, Municipalities, and Public Sector entities. Knowledge of discretionary grant funding opportunities.
