Field Sales Engineer / External Sales Representative

An established distributor of electronic components is seeking an energetic and results-driven Field Sales Engineer / External Sales Representative to join their Cape Town team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding market share, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with clients across the electronic manufacturing, OEM, industrial, RF communications, IoT, and technology sectors.
- Develop new business opportunities and expand existing accounts
- Conduct regular client visits and maintain strong customer relationships
- Promote and sell a range of electronic components and technical solutions
- Prepare quotations and manage customer requirements through to completion
- Liaise with suppliers and internal technical teams to deliver effective solutions
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and market developments
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional service and support
Minimum Requirements
- 3–5 years’ external sales experience in electronics, electrical, industrial, automation, instrumentation, or related technical industries
- Understanding of electronic components and technical products (advantageous)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Commercially driven and customer-focused mindset
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and target-driven
