Technical Assistant

A well-established FMCG manufacturing company is seeking a suitably qualified Technician Assistant to support maintenance activities and ensure the effective operation of equipment and facilities at its Malmesbury site.

Key Responsibilities

Planned Maintenance

Assist the Technician with equipment maintenance activities.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.

Complete all assigned job cards accurately and timeously.

Ensure maintenance check sheets are completed and returned.

Maintain effective turnaround times on maintenance tasks.

Unplanned Maintenance

Assist with equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements.

Site Housekeeping

Ensure maintenance areas are kept clean, organized, and safe at all times.

General Duties

Take ownership of designated work areas and facilities.

Maintain required operational and housekeeping standards.

Report any deviations from company policies and procedures.

Be available to work overtime when operationally required.

Ensure maintenance work is completed correctly the first time.

Minimize equipment leaks, including oil, water, and compressed air.

Ensure all job cards are completed accurately.

Standby Duties

Participate in standby duties according to the roster.

Respond promptly to maintenance callouts.

Complete standby documentation accurately.

SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality)

Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

Ensure correct use of PPE at all times.

Maintain process and product hygiene standards.

Promote a safe and hygienic working environment.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

Grade 12 / Matric

N3 Mechanical or Electrical Qualification

Experience

3–5 years' mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
