Position: Senior Network Engineer

Location: Kenilworth, Cape Town

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Network Engineer who can take ownership of our enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability across global operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills, able to work across international teams while providing technical leadership and mentorship.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure network infrastructure ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and reliability across multiple sites.

· Lead network and firewall upgrades, migrations, and the adoption of new technologies.

· Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network and security incidents, acting as an escalation point where required.

· Build and maintain infrastructure automation (Ansible/AWX).

· Implement and enforce cybersecurity controls, with awareness of PCI DSS and SOC 2 compliance obligations.

· Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning for network and security systems.

· Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records.

· Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and strategic input aligned with business objectives.

Job requirements & preferred skills

· Strong knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS, and VPNs (site-to-site IPSec and remote-access).

· Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, switching, and wireless — our environment runs Palo Alto (PAN-OS), Aruba CX, and Meraki, but equivalent experience is equally welcome, as the underlying skills transfer across vendors.

· Experience with infrastructure automation — Ansible/AWX, Git-based workflows, and scripting in Python and Bash.

· Relevant IT qualification, with certifications such as PCNSE, CCNP, CCIE, Aruba ACSA/ACSP, or Azure (AZ-700 / SC-200) or equivalent preferred.

· Working knowledge of PCI DSS and SOC 2 compliance preferred.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

· Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement abilities.

• Salary : R50000 – R60000 (CTC) Depending on Experience
