Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12)

National Diploma or Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent

+3 Years experience as Raw Material Buyer in a Manufacturing or Petrochemical Environment

Duties & Responsibilities

• Planning and ordering of Raw Materials, ensuring that contractual minimum quantities are ordered every month in conjunction with business requirements.
• Timeous call off of raw material that is stored off-site to be delivered on site according to allocated free days.
• Effective and timeous communication to stakeholders
• Efficient placement of Purchase orders on SAP System and SAP clean up monthly.
• Maintain and ensure goods supplier and service providers relationships
• Maintain a high level of ethical and corporate governance standard.
• Ensure that all expediting functions are well coordinated and controlled with forwarding and clearing agents
• Negotiate and deliver savings to meet business requirements and SCM objectives.
• Review and resolve supplier and service providers performance issues.
• Calculate and report accomplishments in all appropriate systems.
• Required to provide information to finance if and when required
