SUMMARY

A well-established, London-based firm specialising in corporate finance, tax, and accounting is seeking a dynamic Tax Associate to be responsible for supporting the Tax team in delivering high-quality personal tax compliance and bookkeeping services to a diverse client portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tax filings, processing financial data, supporting bookkeeping activities, and ensuring that client deadlines are met accurately and efficiently. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Minimum requirements for the role: Must have a B. Com. Accounting degree or similar relevant qualification Previous experience within an Accounting, Bookkeeping, Tax, or professional services environment would be advantageous Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both clients and colleagues Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Must have a basic understanding of bookkeeping and financial processing principles Experience using Microsoft Excel is preferred Experience using Xero or other cloud-based accounting platforms would be advantageous but is not essential Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment Strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and professional standards Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge within tax and accounting disciplines The successful candidate will be responsible for: Preparing Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax quarterly updates and annual returns. Preparing Personal Tax Returns for review, approval, and submission. Assisting with tax compliance processes, ensuring all work is completed accurately and within required deadlines. Supporting the preparation and maintenance of client financial records and tax-related documentation. Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and client service standards. Processing financial information received from clients and third-party providers. Reconciling financial data and accounting records, including Xero transactions and balances. Assisting with bookkeeping tasks and other compliance-related assignments as required. Maintaining accurate and organised client records to support reporting and compliance activities. Communicating professionally with clients regarding information requests, documentation requirements, and progress updates. Managing client expectations by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial information and tax compliance work. Maintaining confidentiality and security of sensitive client information at all times. Building positive working relationships with clients and colleagues to support effective service delivery. Working closely with Tax Managers and other team members to meet deadlines and client commitments. Supporting departmental projects and ad hoc assignments as required. Contributing positively to the team environment and upholding the firm's values and competency framework. Assisting in identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and client service delivery.
