Compliance Officer

Tsebo Facilities Solutions is looking for a Compliance Officer to coordinate and control health, safety, and compliance activities on site. The role ensures that all statutory requirements, company policies, and safety standards are met through inspections, investigations, training, and awareness initiatives, reducing risks to people and property.

Duties & Responsibilities

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and relevant regulations
  • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits
  • Monitor environmental compliance and reporting requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date safety files and records

Incidents & Risk Management

  • Investigate incidents and accidents
  • Compile and submit reports with corrective actions
  • Identify hazards and implement preventative measures

Training & Awareness

  • Coordinate site inductions for employees and contractors
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Support staff training and safety appointments

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and filing systems
  • Compile SHEQ reports and audit documentation
  • Track compliance metrics and ensure deadlines are met

Stakeholder Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Health & Safety Committee
  • Engage with management and staff to promote safe work practices
  • Communicate safety policies and updates
  • nspections & Monitoring
  • Conduct daily tool and equipment inspections
  • Monitor adherence to safety procedures Ensure corrective actions are implemented

Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Safety audits and risk assessments Incident reporting and investigation
  • Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001)
  • Compliance monitoring and documentation control

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • SAMTRAC or recognised Health & Safety qualification
  • National Diploma in Health and Safety Management (NADSAM)

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of the OHS Act and related policies
  • Experience in inspections, audits, and incident investigations
