PURPOSE
The SHEQ Administrator is responsible for adherence to the Mine Health and Safety Act of the Nickel Purification Plant, document control, update document register, attend Health and Safety meetings. This role is also accountable for the coordination of collating and capturing of information necessary for the proper functioning of Health & Safety Systems. The role’s efforts are focused on the optimisation of Health & Safety systems to ensure integrity of data and information for Internal and External Reporting.
MINIMUM ROLE REQUIREMENTS
• COMSOC 3 / SAMTRAC / Certificate in Safety Management.
• National diploma in Safety Management will be advantageous.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a SHEQ Administrator in a mineral processing plant.
• Experience in administrative function, specifically document control and records management.
• Strong planning and organising skills coupled with attention to detail;
• Excellent computer skills;
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a high stress production environment and deliver results.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Safety, Health, Environment & Quality: Able to translate safety and risk management principles into practical standards and guidelines.
• Operations: Maintain processes aimed at establishing a safe workplace e.g.: Reviewing safety toolbox talks, planned task observations, evaluate job safety analysis documentation and risk assessments, partake in work inspections and incident investigation processes.
• Quality: Promote a culture of “best practice/Zero Harm” regarding health and safety in the workplace / operation.
• People: Conduct on-site training of employees on Health, Safety and Environment issues
• Stakeholder Liaising & Teamwork: Liaise with key stakeholders related to the organization and coordination of work.
