Position: Technical Sales Consultant (Pre-Sales & Managed Services)

Purpose of the Position
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly technical, commercial powerhouse to join their Direct Sales division as a Technical Sales Consultant specializing in Pre-Sales and Managed Services solutions.
This role requires the successful candidate to operate at an executive level, ensuring that the sales ecosystem is performance-driven, measurable, and highly accountable. Acting as the ultimate strategic bridge between complex engineering architectures and enterprise corporate clients, this individual will be directly responsible for scoping, architecting, pricing, and ultimately closing high-value Managed Services agreements across Cloud, Security, and Connectivity ecosystems.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
Solution Architecting & Scoping: Partner closely with corporate account teams to identify technical requirements, translate business problems into advanced technical blueprints, and own the technical solution design from inception to final commercial sign-off.
Deal Closing & Commercial Execution: Maintain a strong commercial hunting instinct. This is a revenue-generating pre-sales position; the individual is responsible for driving revenue growth, protecting gross profit (GP) margins, structuring complex deals, and ensuring deals are actively brought to a close.
Executive-Level Presentations: Deliver high-impact technical presentations, proofs-of-concept (POCs), and comprehensive solution pitches to C-suite and executive boards (CEOs, CFOs, CIOs), building absolute technical credibility and trust.
Cross-Functional Handover & Supportability: Ensure rigid governance across costing sheets and technical frameworks. Manage detailed handovers to Projects, Engineering, and Operations teams to guarantee that whatever is designed can be supported seamlessly within defined SLAs.
Market & Competitor Positioning: Stay ahead of fast-moving infrastructure trends, continuously positioning the group's advanced capabilities against competitor frameworks to win enterprise accounts.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related field (Advantageous).
Experience
Must be permanently based in Gauteng and available for face-to-face enterprise client engagements across the province (Mandatory).
Minimum 10+ years of high-level experience in Technical Sales, Pre-Sales, or Solution Consulting within an enterprise environment (Mandatory).
Proven, documented track record of successfully closing large corporate deals (not merely supporting sales representatives or acting as passive engineering support) (Mandatory).
Extensive experience operating directly within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment (Mandatory).
Technical & Licensing Acumen
Microsoft & Cloud Infrastructure: Deep, comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystems, Azure / Hybrid Cloud environments, Virtualisation frameworks (Hyper-V/VMware), and specific commercial mastery over CSP and SPLA Licensing models.
Managed Security Stack: Advanced understanding of enterprise security concepts, including SOC (Security Operations Centre), SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), Endpoint, and Email Security architectures (Hands-on exposure or positioning of Fortinet suites is highly advantageous).
Networking & Business Continuity: Solid foundation in core networking infrastructure, including SD-WAN, corporate fibre, radio connectivity, and business continuity setups such as Veeam or similar enterprise backup and disaster recovery (DR) technologies.
